Creating a Connection

My name is Courtney Chew, and I earned my bachelor's degree in Spanish with minors in Art, Architectural Art History, Business, and English from The University of Oregon. (SKO DUCKS!) I continued my studies and studied abroad in Seville, Spain; where I fueled my passion for diverse cultures and educational experiences.

After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles and worked in retail for a store in Beverly Hills while also doing freelance marketing for a caramel company called Le Bon Garçon. Working retail was an exceptional experience, but after two years in retail, I was offered to create and curate the marketing assets for a startup student debt company. This student loan debt company was an incubation from an Industrial Design firm. At LoanGifting, I started their campaign marketing e-mails, hired and managed our freelance writers, and kept our users up to date on everything happening in the student loan world. After two years, I switched to marketing for the Industrial Design firm, where I created and led the Google marketing assets and paid marketing advertisements and assets. Because of COVID-19 and a family emergency, I recently moved back to the Bay Area, where I am now the store manager of the Lemon Giftshop. After only five months of starting at Lemon as a sales associate, I was promoted to store manager.

My strong characteristics are a broad sense of expertise, a unique mindset when approaching tasks, being a problem solver, and being a versatile team player. I love spearheading projects, learning, and researching new topics. My ambition helps me to learn and grow continuously while also keeping me busy with many tasks. I am a hard worker who will always give my best foot forward in any job that I am given. I love working on unfamiliar topics or ideas because I can educate myself and others on those topics.
